The “Gulden Leeuw” has undergone a major conversion in 2010 by Balk Shipyard and is now a new build vessel. Built under SOLAS and sailing under Shipping Inspection Netherlands (SI).

The vessel is sailing under SPS (Special Purpose Ships) up to max. 84 persons worldwide. On day trips 200 passengers up to max 218 persons on board, under 2009/45 B (max 20 NM offshore).

“GULDEN LEEUW” is completely ISM certified by BUREAU VERITAS .
The Vessel is a “None-ISPS-Vessel” because of a GT below 500. The maneuvering skills off the “GULDEN LEEUW” are excellent due to a bow -and stern thruster with sufficient power.

History of the Gulden Leeuw

The vessel was ice-class built as an ocean-going, research vessel by the Danish Government in 1937 as “Esvagt Dana“.  The vessel could stand at fix position during work at sea. The “Gulden Leeuw“ was a training ship of the Danish Maritime Academy.

Layout is based on flexibility, endless possibilities to combine functions because of much space on several decks.

Indoor spaces can be transformed into any function desired at that time; dormitory, storage, study room, classroom or lounge.

Spaces to be used simultaneously, combine preparations and party at the same time.
